Nikon d80 frame counter goes blank, cannot access card even when connected to pc?
hi my d80 shows full battery ; autofocus works counter shows ( ) blank, every other setting can be changed except the back panel near the lcd where i can only change the af point with the rocker switch the problem is that i cannot see pictures already on the card or shoot new ones, also the camera cannot be turned off once it is turned on ; i tried the reset button but still the problem persists, is there anything else i can try out. thanks for your suggestions James23p and dm1dave i have already tried the hard reset ,taking off the battery for a few hours had some impact on the functioning i can now turn it off and shutter release button works but still not able to save pictures or access them on any of my 3 cards kingston, transcend and umax none of them is locked and have been using them for the last 6 months. the problem started when one of my friend accidently removed the battery while the cam was on. thought about reinstalling the firmware but the problem is i cannot access the card even when i connect it to the pc the problem occurs with all the cards

Almost sounds like a virus on the cards. Try formatting the cards with a card reader on someone else's computer.

Im making a stop motion for media AS and every frame the lighting is different , how can i overcome this?
Im using a basic 8.1MP digital camera with autofocus on (that may be my problem but it doesnt have a manual option) i have access to digital SLR cameras and my stop motion needs to be around 4 mins long. im using video wherever possible. the camera seems to be picking up changes in light and some frames are yellow and others arent

Flickering is one of the biggest problems when using a digital camera for stop motion. Digital cameras are so sensitive they can capture the variations in light that come from household lightbulbs, which tend to "buzz." You need to set your camera on all manual settings. Locked exposure, no white balance, no flash, no autofocus. It also helps to take pics with a longer exposure setting. There are also some plugins for photoshop which can help de-flicker your photos, but that means doing a lot of post-production work to all your photos. If you aren't already familiar with Photoshop, that can be a real hassle. Also, are you in a completely closed off room? If there are windows and daylight is pouring in, changes in light coming from the window will obviously affect your photos. http://www.stopmotionworks.com/cams4stpmo.htm You might find it easier to use a good webcam or camcorder to shoot your stop motion with because you won't have the flicker problem at all.

Step by Step, how do you access the 13fps reported capability of the Panasonic DMC-FZ28?
I have the camera and I love it, it's the best bridge camera for the money today, period. But, I'd like to experience taking that many frames per second. If anyone has experience with this camera and knows how to set up the camera to take the 13fps., please answer this question. Could it possibly be a misprint that's been repeated countless times on the web? 1.3fps. sounds much more reasonable

I have this camera. its a great one at that. all you need to do is choose the SCN mode (scene) on the dial and in the middle there will be an option in the selection with three stacked boxes, then you choose what you want image priority or speed priority... it's as simple as that. and yes it really is 13 FPS not 1.3 but just so you know it only shoots at a MAX of 3MP for the HIGH SPEED burst mode that i just told you how to get to. if you have the manual still go to page 69. it will tell you more about it. if you need to you can email me and ill transcribe it for you maybe even take a picture of the page so you can see the instructions.
